About us
Every great story has a humble beginning and it is no different for Beepats. In November 1953, Madho Beepat was a young businessman who decided to take a risk to start his own one-man operation in the La Penitence Market, a down trade sector. It was not without challenges, for after the first week he recalls how he had meagre sales and questioned his ability, and his choice… but, he persevered, and laid the foundation for something he probably did not envision growing to become a present day corporate giant.
As M. Beepat developed with his sales and business acumen he saw the opportunity to move his operation to an underdeveloped street known then as a depressed area– Regent street. It is significant to point out this fact since he pioneered the business hub that very street has become in the present day. He had encouraged more businessmen to join him, which they did, and from there Guyana’s popular business hub was birthed.
As the business continued to grow Madho’s son, Dennis Beepat, eventually took over the company while M. Beepat left for different pioneering opportunities in the islands. Mr. Dennis Beepat’s continued desire for quality compelled him to move from basic wholesaling to brand distribution. He steered the company into corporate distribution and marketing directions by securing authorized agencies for many international brands. This coupled with the extensive and personal distribution routes throughout the country enabled Beepats to flourish and grow.
Today, Mr. Dennis Beepat along with his sons, Jonathan and Kristofer, sit at the executive level of the company and manage the family business of Beepats in Guyana.
